Missouri Recreational Cannabis: Frequently Asked Questions

At Kind Goods, we are so stoked about the recent election that brought this transition to Missouri as a recreational market, from a strictly medical cannabis program. Now, what does this all mean? As of December 8, 2022, consumers may legally possess marijuana; on February 6, 2023, dispensaries will be able to legally sell marijuana and marijuana-infused products to consumers!

Still, got some questions? Below are some common FAQs we put together for you.

Any individual who is at least 21 years of age.

What is the difference between medical and recreational?

The main difference with medical vs recreational cannabis is medical patients require a medical marijuana ID, approved patients receive 6oz of allotment within a 30-day period, and the tax rate is up to 4%. For adult use (or recreational) any individual who is at least 21 years of age has up to 3oz of allotment a day, they can be in possession of up to 3 oz of marijuana at any given time, and the tax rate is about 6% plus any local taxes.

What is an allotment?

The purchase limit set in place by DHSS and state of Missouri laws. For medical its up to 6oz of marijuana within a 30-day period. For adult-use marijuana, it is 3 oz of marijuana a day.
